Thank you Addena. I very much enjoyed your poems and the article on the radio co-op was interesting. The importance of these radios stations have been so important and continue to be.
Thank you so much for commenting Francesca. I agree with your thinking that these independent radio stations are so important because we get the news and views from people in all the communities and not corporate scripted. news /slanted news. That is why PBS, and CBC , and Democracy Now are some of my favourite stations.
Oh thank you, Francesca. I appreciate the feedback. Take me a month to write the new letter and I’m just pleased that different parts of it appeal to during people.. you were right about the co-op , public ally funded. and independent radio stations being super important. Especially in these times. It is important that we hear the voices from all the communities , and all “the peoples.”. That’s why I still listen to CBC, and PBS,, and Democracy Now, News outlets.
You really covered a lot this month! You must have been working around the clock! I found the article on Co-op Radio interesting - I'm pretty sure Shannon used to volunteer there way back when he first moved to Vancouver. I'll have to ask him. He hosted a program on the UofA radio station when we lived in Edmonton and has always been interested in independent radio stations.
I was just thinking about Yurida Flores last month when Ange and I were driving out of Vancouver on our way to White Rock. We took 41st and I was telling him about what happened to her. Your poem about her is beautiful, in a sad way. A human life demolished, as "progress" rages on.
Thanks for the read, my friend! We must chat soon.
Ahhhh thank you. I work hard trying to keep up the interest in the content. I should do more poetry because that’s what the newsletter was supposed to be about but all these other ideas on topics pop into my mind and then I research more so I can learn more.
